First printing of Warren's Pulitzer-prize winning novel, in the first-issue dust jacket

Edition: First edition, first printing, with the copyright page stating “First Edition” (changed to a month-printing-year code in the second printing). Price-clipped first-issue dust jacket, with the single Sinclair Lewis review on the rear panel (later changed to multiple review blurbs instead).
Condition and Description: Octavo, 8.25" x 5.5", publisher's maroon cloth lettered in gilt on the spine, 464 pp. Light rubbing, small stains, and handling marks to the cloth. Gilt brighter than usual but with some rubbing to the first word of the title. Tight hinges and binding. No prior owner’s markings. Price-clipped dust jacket is rubbed and with slight fading to the spine, some soiling, chipping to the crown and upper-front tip, and a 1.5” closed tear to the upper-rear joint and fold. Preserved in archival mylar.
