Condition and Description: Octavo, publisher’s original dark blue-green cloth, richly gilt-stamped to the spine and front board. Top edge gilt, other edges rough cut. Frontispiece by Graham Robertson with tissue guard intact. A handsome, unaltered copy with the gilt remaining bright. Hinges and binding sturdy. The boards exhibit some outward bowing. No writing, underlining, or prior owner markings. The preliminary and terminal blanks are modestly spotted, as common, but much less than is typical and the remaining leaves are virtually unaffected. The front flyleaf has two rectangular stains. The crown of the spine is lightly faded and frayed, with the gilt on the adjacent top edge rubbed (refer to the final three pictures for closeups). The bottom of the spine is bumped. Lacking the incredibly scarce dust jacket.
